Cabo Couples Trip

To close out the Summer our friends group decided to plan a couples trip. It’s always hard to get everyone together these days with kids schedules, family vacations and all the other factors. Luckily we were able to get a great group of three couples together and we started planning our vacation.

We knew that we wanted to go to Mexico due to proximity and price, and we landed on Cabo San Lucas as it’s still safe for tourists and had a favorable climate.

We did our research and found a great deal through Costco Travel for an all inclusive stay at The Breathless Resort and Spa with airfare included. If you haven’t used Costco Travel to book a trip, flight or rental car yet, I would highly recommend it. We used it a lot this past Summer and it’s now our go-to first stop when planning a vacation.

We booked our trip to leave early Thursday morning so that we could spend a full three days in Cabo.

Remember how I teased Jordan’s medical woes in the past post? Well, while in line at customs we were given the news by Jordan’s doctor, who confirmed on an MRI, that Jordan in fact had a decently large kidney stone. Luckily, Jordan was 99.9% positive he had passed it the night before we left, so we exited the airport with a clean bill of health and ready to have fun!

Luckily, the airport had a plethora of bars and tiki huts ready to great us with their finest Mexican beers and margaritas.

Part of the Costco Travel package included transportation to and from the airport, so we located our van and headed to the resort.

Upon arriving to the resort we were shown to a VIP area with a large spread of food and drinks while we were given all the hotel information.

After that we headed down to the pool to hang out while our rooms were being prepared. I can’t say enough good things about the staff at Breathless. Our drinks were never empty and everyone always had a smile on their face and was ready to help with whatever we needed. I highly recommend this resort if you are traveling to this area.

The first night we had booked a boat tour of the Cabo San Lucas Arch. Breathless is located on the marina, so it was just a short walk over to the boat from the hotel.

It was a beautiful way to see the area and we all had a great time. I think Amanda would have enjoyed it a little more if she wasn’t quite so sea sick, but I do believe she still had fun!

We headed back to the hotel for some dinner and called it a reasonably early night due to the 5am wakeup call that morning.

The next day we didn’t have anything planned except for the pool and beach.

Around lunchtime we headed down to the Office for some food and drinks. Of course we did some beach shopping along the way. Thankfully I had my master negotiators with me to ensure I didn’t pay full price.

The Office is sort of a Cabo legend and it didn’t disappoint. The margaritas were delicious as was the food, and the table side prepared caesar salad was a fun little show.

That night we had a wonderful dinner at the hotel before heading out on a bar crawl. Needless to say, I’m not quite as fun as I used to be… Or maybe I’m more fun, either way - I only made it to two bars... If you include the one at our hotel - LOL!!!!

The next morning we woke up early and headed out to our ATV tour. This was definitely the most extreme event of the trip and it didn’t disappoint.

Going across that bridge at the end was a big deal for me! It was super scary, but I’m so glad I did it. The views were gorgeous and it was definitely a bit of an adrenaline rush.

We headed back to the hotel to clean all the sand off of us and spent the rest of the afternoon pool and beachside.

It was hard to believe we were already at the end of our trip. We toasted the vacation with a delicious dinner and a burlesque show on the top of the hotel.

In this trip we found such a good group of travel buddies. No drama, just real honest to goodness fun. We will travel with y’all anywhere, and can’t wait to do it again!

As always, a HUGE Thank You!!! To Mary Ann and Jerry for watching the kids. I know it’s not easy when you’ve got to deal with these two…
