Lazy Summer Afternoons

I love Summer.  Like, I really love Summer.  I'm one of those people that probably complains about the heat, just because everyone else does, but for the most part, it really doesn't bother me.  I love the extra hours of sunlight, and the warm breezes that follow.  I love ice cream and evenings spent on the patio.  I love the grill.  I love backyard pools and sprinkler fun.  And, I love watching Summer through my kids eyes.  

We've been enjoying this summer with all the above activities, but this week, we've kept inside a little more and enjoyed some air conditioning as well.  

There are few things that Isla enjoys more then "art".  She will color, paint, bead, sculpt, you name it.  On this day we opted for the easiest and cleanest option.  

The kids both love to play peekaboo, but they rarely play together.  On a recent evening after dinner, they did.  It didn't matter that Isla was naked and the light was low, this sweet series of moments between brother and sister had to be captured.  

I can't believe that we are halfway though July and Target is starting to stock the "Back to School" and college dorm room products.  Lucky for us Summer is long from over here in Katy, Texas.
