Baby Holden

Among our group of friends, Holden is currently one of the youngest kids.  There will soon be younger, but for now - he is still the baby of the group.  There are many times where he gets picked up, fed a bottle or becomes the recipient of forceful feeding (aka, food being aggressively stuffed into his mouth).  Usually, he is pretty tolerant and allows the older kids to do what they want.

Thursdays we have been going to the Grand Lakes Splash Pad.  It's perfect because its right after Isla's swim lessons, so she is already wet.  Also, it gets the kids outside running around, while I don't even have to get into a swim suit.  This past Thursday our friend Brady and Avery joined us.  The Jones kids had fun picking up Holden and carrying him around, while Isla was content to "cook a recipe" over in a corner of the splash pad with some stolen water pails.

These two are going to be welcoming a new little brother very soon.  Looks like they are ready to me-Mom's going to have a lot of help!!!

And then comes the point where he is just OVER it...  Only so much one kid can take!

After Holden's meltdown, we headed over to have the lunches we had packed.  About halfway through the picnic it started sprinkling.  Not thinking much of it we sat there talking, assuming it was about to blow over.  We were wrong.  It turned into a full out downpour.  We packed up our things as quickly as possible and made a mad dash with the thirty other Moms and their screaming kids to our respective cars.

Oh well - hoping for better weather this Thursday!
