Friday Afternoons

Friday Afternoons

Isla goes to preschool on Mondays and Fridays.  Although many three-year-olds start going three days a week, I have decided that two days is perfect for us.  She gets to see her friends, learns a lot, and I still get to spend time with my little girl while she still really wants to spend time with me.

Isla started preschool right around age two.  This was a good start time for us, and I think we will do the same with Holden, although it's hard for me to reconcile the fact that he's getting closer and closer to two years old every day.  In my mind both my kids will always be my babies, but Holden maybe even more so since he really is "the baby".

Sadly too many of our Monday/Friday, Mommy/Son days are filled with errands, cleaning, lunches, and appointments.  But today, the house was fairly clean, we didn't have anywhere we neededto be, and I had some time to connect one-on-one with my little guy.

He is growing so fast...  After lunch he had a whole conversation with me, (all in two syllable identical words, i.e.: ma ma, pa pa, da da...).  his little face was so cute while he was trying to make the sounds.  I tried to capture some of them in pictures.

Later on that night the camera came out again... I have always LOVED the light in our house - I need to have a well-lit, bright house, it just make me happy.  Ever since I've started working on taking better pictures, I've found a new appreciation for the light in our house - particularly in our family room.  Well last night I found out something new about our family room.  I guess I've missed it in the past since around this time we are usually busy with dinner, putting the kids to bed, etc... But this night we had a crock pot meal that had already been eaten and cleaned up, so we were able to play with the kids a little right before bed.  From the spot we were sitting I noticed that our family room also picks up beautiful sun flares and portrays "the golden hour" perfectly. Just one more reason why the curtains will always be open in my home :).
