Isla's Birthday Weekend
Isla's birthday was a big deal this year. She finally started to understand it, and had been talking about Mimi coming, and her party for months. Since her birthday fell on a Sunday we naturally decided to make a whole weekend out of it. Because Isla doesn't do ANYTHING small...
Friday evening Isla and I drove to the airport to pick Mimi up. For the first time, I let Isla walk in to welcome Mimi from the actual airport. She was super excited while waiting for her to come through the security gates, and kept asking where she was and straining to see her. When She finally spotted her she got a huge grin on her face and ran to greet my Mom, promptly expressing her interest in Mimi's bright pink luggage tag (which Mimi immediately untied and placed on Isla's luggage). No, we weren't going anywhere, but Isla insisted on bringing her Trunki to the airport nevertheless.
The next morning I had planned a spa day for Isla. She showed up at Sugar and Spice all ready for her makeup, updo, and manicure.
Holden was pretty unimpressed with the whole process...
But Isla was not. She was absolutely in love with her new look and kept sneaking glances at herself in every mirror she could find.
After her makeover we went to get some ice cream before heading to dance class. Needless to say it was a birthday morning fit for a princess, and I could tell it was very much appreciated.
The next morning was Isla's actual birthday. I stayed up putting together her big present (a dollhouse) since Jordan had a previously planned "guys night out". That morning she woke up to a tea party and a brand new toy. I am pretty sure she was in heaven.
Soon after the tea party, birthday preparations were underway.
My friend Lori was kind enough to let us borrow her bounce house so the kids could have something to play with.
Isla wanted everyone to know that it was her party, and she would cry if she wanted to...
Happy Birthday Sweet Baby. You are such a blessing in our lives and we love you so very much!
