Easter at the Lake
For the second year in a row we decided to spend Easter up at the Lake. Its a great time of year up there - the weather is warm, but not too hot, and everyone can’t wait to get out on the lake.
This year we decided to check some things off our ever growing Texas bucket list and visit the Austin Barton Creek Greenbelt. By far Austin’s most popular greenbelt, Barton Creek boasts miles and miles of creek bed, rock walls and wooded hikes to explore. It’s been on our list for a while and we couldn’t think of a better time to check it out.
The plan was to head there first thing Saturday morning when we woke up. Of course we had to grab some dinner Friday night on the way to the house, and thought it was about time Dolly had her first taste of Lupe Tortillas fajita beef.
Not surprisingly, it was a big hit…
Theres many spots to enter the Greenbelt at, but we opted for the Spyglass entrance, wanting to stop at Taco Deli on the way out. This place makes AMAZING street tacos and I highly recommend it if you ever find yourself in the Austin area.
Besides swimming, theres lots of rocks to climb, (both legit and those made for precocious 7-9 year olds).
Isla even managed to get a picture of Jordan and I will my DSLR.
It was SUCH a cool place and as you will see we came back to explore many times over the course of the Summer.
The kids didn’t want tacos, and the quest didn’t quite fill them up so we ran over to Home Slice to get them a fix of their favorite pizza.
We ended the day with a little beach time on the lake before heading home and tucking in for the night.
The next morning we met up with our friends for a fun day on the lake. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
These two can’t get enough of each other, and I can’t get enough of them!
We ended the day with a show on the beach before going home and waiting for the Easter Bunny to make his appearance.
Easter Morning
After finding all the eggs and checking out all the goodies, we headed down to the Beach Club for Easter Brunch.
There were MORE baskets for the kids and they even got to decorate cupcakes.
It was a wonderful Easter weekend with family and friends!
