The Houston Rodeo // Turnpike Troubadours
There are a lot of uncertainties in Houston… the weather, zoning issues, which tex mex reigns supreme… But there is one thing that you can count on for sure, every February and March the Rodeo will come to town, and the people will come out in droves.
The Houston Rodeo is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Its pure Texas in a city, and furthermore a state that’s moving further and further away from its cowboy past. With Houston ranked as the most diverse city in the United States the rodeo is all at once an anomaly and a favorite pastime among old and new residents.
It was the first date night we had when we moved to Texas, and while I know what to expect, I’m still just as blown away by the fanfare every year.
This year Jordan got us tickets to see my favorite band, The Turnpike Troubadours.
There are a lot of times where unless it’s a huge legendary band, the two of us don’t agree on concert preferences. However, I think Jordan enjoyed this one just as much as I did.
