Hello Summer!!!

I know it’s actually GOODBYE Summer, but with the whole blog migration and making time for the actual Summer memories to get made, I’ve gotten a little behind in the blogging world. Nevertheless, I’m back, rejuvenated and ready to share the awesome Summer that we had.

We decided to kick it off in style Memorial Day weekend with on of our favorite families, the Gayser’s up at the lake.

But first, there was the last day of school. Back at the beginning of the school year I bid on the yard sign package in our schools Silent Auction. I thought the kids would be elated to see a giant sign in our front yard welcoming Summer in…. Like many things having to do with what my kids will like and what they won’t; I was wrong.

Isla put up with my picture taking for a whole four minutes before she was completely done. Oh well, the rest of the neighborhood seemed to enjoy Summer’s warm welcome.

note the loser “L” on Isla’s forehead…

I’m happy to report she got a little more into the photos towards the 3:39 minute mark…

It was an especially emotional day for Holden’s class as he was moving onto the next step in his educational journey. Next year he would be moving from ECAP (Early Childhood Autism Program), into YCAP (Young Childhood Autism Program). This wasn’t the only change as a couple of the teachers were either moving, or taking time away from the classroom.

Holden’s learning celebration was particularly hard and many tears were shed by both teachers and parents.

It’s so hard to express how much these women mean to our family. I can’t ever thank them enough for the way that they love our little Holden.

The last day was a half day so we spent the rest of the afternoon poolside. It was a nice relaxing way to unwind before our trip up to the Hill Country.

The next morning I loaded up the kids and headed up to the lake. Jordan was still working since it was a Friday, and planned to join us that evening.

We had an awesome weekend with the Gayser family exploring Barton Springs and the Zilker park area in Austin.

Barton Springs is a really cool place to visit when you’re in Austin and somewhere that we have since been often. After having some issues this first time, we’ve found a spot at Barton Springs that is much more conducive to our family since the crowds and restrictions proved to be a little too hard for Holden. More on that soon.

We spent the rest of the weekend at Flat Creek Winery, on the lake or at the pool. It was the perfect way to say: “HELLO SUMMER!”
