Summer Part III

Astros Game

The Astros are having a great season this year, and we wanted to take advantage and get a group together to go down and watch.  We had so much fun, and the Astros WON!

we all piled into one cab in search of a specific piano bar.  The uber driver took us to the wrong piano bar and we ended up walking in the June heat to find the "right" one.

despite the cab confusion, it was a fun way to end a great night.

Swim Team

This is Isla's second year on Swim Team, and we've seen a huge difference.  It took a while to get into item and build her stamina/endurance back up, but by mid season she was doing great!  She took a bit of a downturn towards the end of the season - she seemed to be in her own head and in trying to work on each stroke and make it perfect, she was screwing up the good things she was already doing.

All that really mattered was that she had a great time as always, and ended the season with a party and a night of toilet papering houses!

Picnic

This year we had a pretty extensive Summer Bucket List (more on that later).  One of the items on the list was to have a picnic.  We decided on a spot and headed out on a sunny Saturday morning to cross this one off the board.

Isla was super interested in helping to pack the basket and also wanted an integral part in setting it out once we got there.  She did a great job!

The Houston Waterwall is a really cool monument down in the Galleria area of Houston.  If you haven't been I definitely recommend it.

Thats a wrap on Part III.  Next up a break from the Summer series with a post dedicated to our week-plus family vacation up in the Hill Country.  This was truly the highlight of our Summer and I can't wait to share it with you!
