A 40th Birthday Celebration in New Orleans

In January we headed to New Orleans to celebrate two of our best friends 40th birthdays.  Its seriously tough for me to write that.  How do we have close friends celebrating FORTIETH birthdays.  That always seemed so old to me, yet it's only five short years down the road.

My Mom used to tell me that she never stopped feeling like she was 18 years old.  Like she stopped aging in her mind at that point in her life.  I feel the same way.  While it's clear that time is passing when I look at the creases in my eyes, or when I have to pass on dessert due to the slowing of my metabolism, (lets be clear, that never happens - I always have dessert), I still feel

 young

.

And this particular weekend we were the life of the party, young, old it didn't matter - we were the people having the best time everywhere we went.  Mother nature threw us a curve ball with what was likely the coldest weekend New Orleans will see this year, but we could not be deterred.  What a great way to go through life - feeling

young

and just celebrating living.

I love all these people so much and was so happy to celebrate such an important milestone.  Just don't call it old...

Happy 40th Eric and Greg!!!!
