The Pedernales // Texas Hill Country

One of our favorite things about the lake house is it's location in the Texas Hill Country.  There's a multitude of things to do and we've only just hit the tip of the iceberg.  We've got a list a mile long including Jacobs Well this coming Monday, (click here) to learn more about it via trip advisor).  About a month ago we took a day to explore the Pedernales with Jordan's parents.  It was a beautiful place and a perfect way to spend a Sunday.  For fans of the HBO show, the Leftovers, you'll recognize the Pedernales as it was featured prominently on the 2nd season.

The area with the Falls is prone to flash flooding, and often has a high current making it too unpredictable for swimming.  However, down the road is a swimming hole complete with a little rock to jump off of, and a rope swing - the kids were in heaven.

All this worked up quite the appetite, so we headed down the road to the famous Salt Lick BBQ.  It was PHENOMENAL, and a great atmosphere.  Texas BBQ at its finest.  These guys even played Isla a song after she tipped them.

All in all it was a great day, and one of my favorite memories from the lake so far.
