Baby Graduates
At the end of May both my babies reached educational milestones. Isla graduated from Pre-K, (which has a lot more pomp and circumstance than you would expect), and Holden participated in his very first "Learning Celebration", after a very successful half a year at Tom Wilson Elementary.
I couldn't help it, I totally lost it at both.
It's just crazy how fast this all goes.
It seems like yesterday we were dropping this little girl off for her first day. As we watched her navigate around her new classroom, it seemed like we were the children and she was the parent... She confidently turned around and waved us out of the room with tears in our eyes.
I remember that first week I found out when playground time was, and planned my day to drive slowly by the school to see how she was doing. Of course, as anyone who knows Isla will tell you; I had nothing to worry about.
We are so proud of you sweet Isla. We just know you will take Kindergarten by storm!
A couple days later, it was Holden's turn.
Unfortunately, Daddy couldn't make it, as it was right in the middle of the day. But I tried to get as much of it documented as possible.
Holden has been blessed with such a wonderful program, and some of the most beautiful caring souls I know, to teach him, and help him on his education path.
He was a little upset when I first got there. This was totally out of their normal routine, and understandably, that was going to upset a lot of the kids.
Once he locked eyes with me, and realized I was there, his little expression made my heart sing. It was so sweet to see all the work the kids and teachers had put into this celebration.
Holden has worked so hard and made such wonderful progress. We are so proud of him. Going to school every single day from 8-12:40 as a 3 year old is not an easy thing, and he has killed it.
