Way Way Back to the Time we Took that Trip to Florida...
I'm back! And we are gonna start with everything I've missed in the meantime. This means going all the way back to three months ago. I know - it's nuts!
Back in March we made the trip down to Florida to visit my parents. The kids were super excited to see Mimi and Papa, and while we were excited as well, we were initially just focused on getting the first leg of the trip (Flight #1) down, and out of the way.
So we loaded up the car with ALL the kids (Teddy included), and headed down to get Daddy from work, and head to the airport.
Thankfully, the kids did great, and were were in the Sunshine state before we knew it.
We had so much fun spending time with Mimi and Papa! We went to the beach, visited an everglades alligator park, and made house calls at some of Mimi and Papas friends. And of course, there were many golf kart rides. Always a favorite with the kids, and I think Papa as well ;).
My parents live in a neighborhood that includes beach access. Just a short ferry ride away is a natural and beautiful beach park. It's always been one of our favorite spots to visit when we come to stay.
The kids did great on the boat ride, and only spilled pretty much EVERY snack that I packed for them!
Once there everything calmed down a little... Holden LOVED everything about the beach.
He ran around with a huge smile on his face the whole time.
And Isla seemed to think the beach was her own personal photo shoot location.
Theres some more of that "sass".
The next day we headed over to a park that we've seen the billboard for ever since my parents moved to Florida, but have never been. We thought it would be a perfect outing for the kids, and we were right.
They loved checking out all the different animals and wildlife.
Of course they didn't so much love all the pictures...
Of course, one of the favorite activities is always Papa's golf kart rides. Both kids loved touring the neighborhood and even hitting some golf balls on the course with Papa.
It was a wonderful trip, and all too soon it was time for the final leg (the 2nd flight). I was dreading this one as it was a
super
early flight home. I'm not a morning person anyways, add in two kids who are depending on me and Jordan and it did not sound wonderfully appealing. But I have to say this was definitely the way to travel with the kids. Isla was a dream, and Holden was the best I've ever seen him on any flight, possibly the best I've seen him in public in general!
Both kids passed out as soon as we got in the car, although both were awake before we got back to our house. What can I say - my kids just don't nap!
We had such a wonderful time, and are so grateful to my parents for their hospitality. We can't wait to see y'all again soon!
