Living in the Now
We've had a very busy couple of months. Between the upcoming holidays and birthdays, trips, and extra curricular activities, our lives have been pretty full. But somewhere between those big things, we've been living in the day-to-day. Relishing in the "now". I've tried to be more diligent about getting my camera out and capturing these "mundane" everyday moments. Because I know that it's times like these that I'll look back and wish I had back. It's been a nice return - commemorating these memories, rather than hoping for the perfect shot at the pumpkin patch, (although, I will say I was much more relaxed this year with that as well). When I got my first DSLR, shortly after Isla's birth, It was moments like these I recorded the most. I would take 48+ shots of the smile that she got while watching Baby Einstein…. And of course I wouldn't think of deleting one of them. Don't worry, we have plenty of "big moment" blog posts to come, but these shots are pretty awesome and special as well.
Okay, so these first shots may have been a bit posed… I recently fell in love with this neighborhood right outside of Cinco when I took my friend and her daughter out here for pictures. I decided I would do the same with Isla. While she was surprisingly cooperative, the bugs were not. We spent all of five minutes there before we'd both been eaten alive by fire ants. I almost left my shoe trying to get them off of my foot.
I'm still thankful for the shots I did get of my beautiful, almost 5 year-old.
