Fall - So Far...
I sit here writing this totally bundled up - I even have socks on. And if I wasn't on a 3-day cleanse, I would most certainly have some sort of very rich and hot beverage in my hand as well. I know that this doesn't seem like a big deal to a lot of you - Fall is supposed to be cold, right? Well - not 30 degrees cold in NOVEMBER. Not in South Texas. And apparently my blood has gotten used to these norms. I have been FREEZING.
Today has actually warmed up. It's currently 66 degrees, and expected to reach 69 before the end of the day. But I swear, the house has not caught up with the temperature change. It's still cold in here!
While I enjoy a little cold weather to bring in the Holidays as much as the next person, It came
really
early this year. It makes me truly worried for our December trip to New York, as well as what the weather has in store for our usually very mild Texas winter.
Luckily, we were able to get out and enjoy Fall before it really cooled off. We managed to tick off all the usual Fall traditions; pumpkin patch, check… carving pumpkins, check… Blessington Farms, check… School Fall Festival, check… Trick or Treat, check… Halloween Party, check…
St. Peters Pumpkin Patch
I'm pretty sure Jordan was silently checking me over to confirm I was still his wife, when on the way to the Pumpkin Patch, I said; "Lets not stress over these pictures, let's just let the kids have fun, and if we get a couple good shots, then thats great".
And you know what? They did have fun. And these pictures are some of my favorite pumpkin patch shots. I feel like they really show their true personalities.
Holden was obsessed with rolling the pumpkins, sometimes even throwing them off the pallets. I'm pretty sure he made the biggest mess that patch has ever seen.
But he had SO much fun doing it…
And Isla, tried her best to find the perfect pumpkin. I'm not sure what her criteria was, but she definitely found some pretty awesome carving pumpkins.
Of course, they were also always up for a little goofiness…
My one attempt at a posed shot TOGETHER, went a little something like this:
Pumpkin Carving
Holden was happiest just running around in the yard and checking out the spooky decorations.
Halloween Party/Decorations
As always, the Halloween party was tons of fun. And although we are missing a couple of costumes, on the collage above, the turnout and costumes were fantastic. Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of the prize winner, "Tinkerbelly", who took home the annual trophy. However, we were able to capture him on video, you can see Paul, and his costume in all it's glory in the Halloween video at the end of this post.
