Let's go Swimming!

Our adventure into the process of building a pool has come to an end.  What was once an ugly cement hole in our backyard has transformed into our very own Summer, (and in Houston, Spring, Fall, and sometimes Winter), retreat.

Outside of my pregnancies, it was one of the hardest things to wait for.  While Sunset Pools finished our pool and outdoor kitchen in just 6 weeks, it seemed like 6 months!  We couldn't be happier with the finished product, and have been using it non-stop since it's completion.

This was the weekend they finished the pool

The kids literally could not even wait to get swimsuits on, or for the hose to finish filling the pool before they tested it out. 

Since that weekend, we've added some landscaping and arranged the furniture just how we wanted it.

Understandably, we've been getting our moneys worth, with both the kids, and Jordan and myself, inviting friends over whenever possible to come enjoy our new pool.

Thankfully, Isla is a confident swimmer, which makes it a little easier, and Holden LOVES his puddle jumper. We plan to enroll him into a aquatic toddler program that promises to teach your child to swim within a month of daily 15 minute classes. I have no doubt that Holden will be a little fishy at the end of the program, as he already monkey walks, holds his breath, and gets out of the pool like a true pro. And with his little belly, I don't think buoyancy will be an issue at all!
