This Past Month...

To say things have been busy in our world, is an understatement.  Our family has literally been a cesspool for bacteria this past month.  Between a nasty case of the flu, pink eye and possibly worst of all, the stomach bug our family has not been firing on all cylinders.  Additionally, I have the honor of catching all three of these very unfortunate ailments.  As a result, our blog has suffered in the frequency of updates.

So lets catch up on what we've been up to…  Ready, set, GO:  Jordan trained, and ran his first, (and possibly last), marathon.  Isla finished her first, (and possibly last), soccer season.  Houston saw a ice storm in MARCH - yes, I said March.  The Houston Rodeo came to town.  And, we basically built a pool in our backyard.  This is all great - amazing even, but possibly my most favorite thing to happen recently was this:

My "Mommy and Me" Session

I was able to sit on the other side of the lens and capture some memories with my babies. As much as I love taking pictures of my family and our story, I want our kids to know that I am part of that story.

Thanks to Shalonda Chaddock of Chubby Cheek Photography, I will have these images to cherish forever.

And, I could not be happier with the way they turned out. Well, that's not true - I would have preferred my hair didn't turn out so frizzy, but this is Houston and it was humid!

And then Isla took the camera - this is a view through her world.

Isla's FAVORITE part of every game - the tunnel of parents at the end…

After the game we hightailed it up to the Woodlands to make sure we saw Daddy finish his race. I was so proud of both my babies that day. They finished what they started and they gave it their all. What a good example to set for our kids.

Ice Ice Baby

OVER it.  Totally over it.  So that is all I will write on his subject.  I'll just share the pictures, and vow not to look at them again until it's the dead of summer, and I'm melting it's so hot out.

Rodeo Houston

This is always one of our most favorite times of year.  The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo literally takes over the city basically for a month.  Seriously takes over.  The kids even have "Go Texan", or "Rodeo" days at school.  It never gets old, and we look forward to it all year long.  This year I was set to go see Luke Bryan, REO Speedwagon and Maroon 5 with some of my girlfriends.  We made it to two out of the three.  Unfortunately, we had to give away our Luke Bryan tickets as Jordan was sick the night of the concert and Rodeo.  But the other shows were a great time as always, and we are already looking forward to next year.

The Pool

I am so excited about this project I could literally burst.  Every morning I wake up and email the project manager to see what's next.  Today they built the kitchen and tomorrow they will install the fans and lights, and template for the kitchen granite.  We are set to finish at the end of March/VERY beginning of April.  I.  Cannot.  Wait.

And here's some random pictures I shot of Isla "cleaning" our shower.  Guess who had to

really

clean it after this?  We got some cute pictures though!

See you all soon!
