Galveston Beach, Texas
A couple weeks ago we rented a beach house with our friends the Hawkins. They have two little girls very close in age to our babies, and the kids were just as excited as we were to spend a weekend at the beach together.
Friday morning we loaded up our cars and made the hour drive down to Galveston. The house was on a section of Galveston Island that we have never been to. It's basically as far west as you can go before you hit water. For those of you who have been to Galveston before, you know that it's not really known for it's beauty, especially when compared to Florida or other East coast beaches. However, I have to admit I was pretty impressed with this area of the island, and we will definitely be back.
Our rental had a dock that took us across to a pretty private area of beach. The first afternoon we spent time grocery shopping for the weekend, getting everything set up, and having a couple drinks on the patio. By the time we actually made it to the beach that afternoon it was threatening to rain.
As usual, Isla was right at home at the beach...
But this little teething monster had quickly had enough...
Luckily our rental had access to a beach club with a pool.
We spent the nights being entertained by the kids, and then entertaining ourselves with some board games and good company once the kids went to bed.
It was such a fun trip, and one we are looking forward to making a yearly tradition.
And now our trip according to Instagram:
