Knoxville, Tennessee
In early January Isla and I made a trip back to the Southeast. One of my best friends Michelle just had her first baby
Vincent, and I literally couldn't wait to get my hands on him! Thursday afternoon we started the first leg of our trip to Atlanta.
Ice cream before the flight.
Isla and Mommy on on the plane
That night we were going to stay with Nicole (another one of my best friends, who I've known since the first day
of college), and drive to Knoxville the next morning.
Isla was perfect at the airport in Houston and on the flight to Atlanta. She even cooperated during our 45 minute wait
for our luggage at the baggage claim. I was so proud of her.
That night Nicole and I caught up over a hodge podge of beers that we found in her fridge. Of course we spent a little toomuch time catching up, and were paying for it the next day. Our morning departure turned into an afternoon trip. After fueling up at Starbucks, (coffee for Nicole and I, and juice and popcorn for Isla), we were on our way.
Three hours later we were back in Knoxville and we finally got to meet baby Vincent.
It was so worth the wait. Baby Vincent was absolutely adorable and Michelle is a glowing new Mommy.
Thankfully Jordan was sending me photos of my own sweet baby boy the whole time. Girls weekends are always fun, but I missed my boys at home more than anything!
I have to admit, Daddy did a pretty good job of dressing this handsome little guy too!
We spent the next few days getting to know Vincent and catching up. Our friend Chris was having a birthday party
while we were in town, so we were happy to celebrate that and see even more friends that we haven't seen in a while.
Chris and his wife Jessica just recently had their daughter Evelyn, and this was our first time meeting her. She is
just as precious as all the photos I've seen of her, and I'm so happy for Chris and Jessica, and their growing family.
Isla was pretty much obsessed with the animals at "Chelle's" house. Mostly the kitty cat. She followed that poor thing
around all day - even sitting and staring at it while it ate. Sadly, she will not know the joy of cat ownership as I
am extremely allergic...
No girls weekend is complete without mani/pedis
Sweet baby Evelyn
It was an absolutely wonderful trip and I feel so lucky to have had such good friends for so long. I can't wait till we
all get together again.
