It's Football Time in... Atlanta

Okay, so it's football time

FOR

Tennessee

IN

Atlanta.  The Vols opened their season at a neutral site game in Atlanta against NC State.  Thanks to Nana Fife, Jordan and I were lucky enough to make the trip down to see the game.  The Braves were also playing the Phillies that weekend, so we were able to see an actual MLB baseball game (because no, the Astros absolutely do NOT count).

Friday was basically devoted to the game as we started tailgating pretty early.  The Game was that evening, and I have to admit I was a little worried about the outcome.  The Vols quelled my fears pretty early on, and we were able to enjoy the rest of the game which resulted in a 35-21 victory.  After the game we met up with some friends from college that were all in town for the game and who we haven't seen in years.  It was such a fun Tennessee football experience.

Jordan was even lucky enough to meet Coach Fulmer.  To say I was jealous is an understatement.

The next day we went over to our friend Andrew and Courtney's to meet up with some friends, for a cookout and some football.  We were able to meet their adorable little baby Chase and our friend Candy and Wade's son Grayton who was born just before Holden.  It was so weird being around all our friends and all their kids and not having ours.  It was almost like we didn't know what to do with ourselves, almost...  I could almost see the jealousy in our friends eyes as they chased after their children and we slowly sipped our beers.  :)

We left the cookout a little early to meet up with our friends Dan and Sara to go see the Braves play the Phillies at Turner Field.  It was so fun to be back at a Braves game.

that night we visited an Atlanta institution:

Unfortunately we were told that we missed "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" who were taping there the night before, as well as Robert Dinero who the owner proved was there by showing me a picture on her cell phone.  None of this is surprising as this is a can't-miss landmark when you are visiting Atlanta.

As expected, we had a wonderful time in our first "real home" hometown.  We miss all of our friends back in Georgia, but were insanely happy to get home and see these two:
