Happy Halloween WEEK
Well, its the night before Halloween, and we've either hosted or attended three different Halloween parties already. Up next we have a playgroup park party, Trick or Treat in the neighborhood, Dewberry Farms with Holden, and Isla's school's Fall Festival. Let me update you on how we've celebrated so far.
The house has been decorated "spooky" for about a week now. The kids seem to like it and it puts me in a Halloween state of mind.
This all lead up to a costume party that we threw at our house this past Saturday night.
Pumpkin Mousse Cups that I found on Pinterest. Click
for the recipe. I guess they aren't that bad for you either!
The "Shotsman" and Katy Perry / Blind Melon
Gagnam Style and Devil / Biggest Loser Contestants
Doctor and his Nurse / Ryan Lochte and Gabby Douglas
The Hamburglar and his Burgers
The costume contest winners and the proud owners of this piece of hardware... which, they forgot to take home!
The party was a huge success and we had a great time celebrating Halloween with some less kid friendly activities!
The next day we took Holden and Isla to a Halloween Party at the Little Gym. Isla used to take classes here, but stopped this past summer. Holden and I have been taking classes for about a month now. He loves the one-on-one time with just him and Mommy.
Needless to say both kids loved dressing up in their costumes, (okay, well maybe Holden didn't LOVE his monkey costume) and playing at the Gym.
I think the big issue Holden had with the costume was the fact that he couldn't really move in it. You can see his frustration... Also, despite the weather cooling off a little here in South Texas, it's still pretty steamy. Especially when you are wearing a furry monkey suit.
But seriously, look how cute he looks!
Isla had fun practicing all her old moves.
Tumbling is always a favorite...
Finally, last night we went to a party at the Childrens Museum downtown. Despite being a little late for the kids to be out, they had a good time. Isla especially loved Trick or Treating. It seems like this is the first year that she really gets what it's all about, so that should make tomorrow night a little more exciting.
Happy Hallows Eve everybody! We hope to see you all out tomorrow night. Strawberry Shortcake is ready to go, and look for a surprise costume by Holden - he's totally "over the monkey".
