Nashville
A couple weeks ago we took our first trip by plane as a family of four. Bound for Nashville, Tennessee I was prepared weeks in advance. Isla had her own carryon that she actually got to ride around the airport; needless to say this was a crowd pleaser. I stuffed the carryon full of new toys, plenty of coloring tools and her very own digital camera. All the goodies seemed to work - we only experienced one meltdown the whole time... both there AND back.
We have a lot of family and friends that live in Tennessee so this was a pretty busy visit. Cheng, Jordan's best friend from all the way back to fourth grade also made the trip. Despite some bad weather, the mini-vacation was a success. We loved getting to see all of our family and friends and visit one of the most beautiful states in the country all at the same time. We can't wait to make it back. Thanks to Mary Ann and Jerry Fife for their UNBELIEVABLE hospitality.
Traveling in style
Isla spent much of the time on the plane videotaping herself with the iPad, while Holden
slept soundly...
Isla and Emerson became fast friends. She even shared her Hello Kitty stickers.
AND her chalk!
Jordan was creepily excited to see Cheng
He brought both kids goodies - Holden got his first pair of high tops, among other UNC related gifts.
Thanks Uncle Cheng!
Isla had a great time visiting Papaw at Vanderbilt.
Right away, she let the office know who was boss.
Taking an important call...
We were so excited that my parents made the trip from Knoxville. This was the first time my Dad got to meet Holden.
And Isla got to
spend some time with one of her favorite Aunts.
Isla didn't want us to take a picture of her in a bikini ;)...
We were able to go downtown and meet up with another one of Jordan's friends from high school, Rick, who was in
town for the
weekend. Isla loved him.
She even felt comfortable enough to go to the bathroom in front of him... and the rest of the parking lot...
Jordan's parents recently installed a pool, and despite the bad weather we were able to find some time between the clouds
to test it out.
Of course Jerry made sure the yard was in tip top shape.
It was a wonderful trip and we enjoyed spending some quality time with our family far away.
We can't wait to see y'all again!
