Father's Day
...in the words of one of the greatest Fathers out there...
This father’s day marked my third Father’s Day to celebrate. The day started off with Kelly letting me sleep in while her and the kids prepared me a wonderful breakfast in bed.
Isla entered the room singing “Good Morning to You, Good Morning to You, Good Morning Dear Daddy, Good Morning to You.” We were off to a good start…
After eating and laying around with the kids I got up and went to the kitchen where a very large box was wrapped and waiting for me. Kelly and the kids had decorated it with a special message and their hand prints which was awesome. I unwrapped the gift and discovered a shot glass case (we collect shot glasses and have run out of space for them so this was a perfect gift).
After thanking my wife and kids for the gift I got my shoes and went out to mow, edge, weed eat and blow off the driveway. It was a hot day in Texas (that was meant as a joke since its 70 in December here) and half way through my chores I noticed Isla coming towards me with a glass of water, she also gave me a kiss. Fueled by water and little girl kisses I was able to finish the job.
When I was done we were off to the pool where Isla practiced going under and Holden practiced rocking a hat and smiling (he is not a pro yet but certainly a top rated amateur).
I will not lie when I say this was close to a perfect father’s day, thanks to Kelly, Isla and Holden for making it so special. I look forward to many more to come.
