Happy Easter
We had a wonderful Easter weekend together. Saturday morning we organized an Easter Egg Hunt for Isla and all her friends. We had brunch with friends while the kids played games, did crafts and ultimately hunted for eggs. Isla managed to get insanely messy 5 minutes into the event. In all fairness it may have been the Easter Bunnies fault as he put chocolate candies in the Easter Eggs. I guess the Easter Bunny doesn't live in a place like Texas where it's already 90 degrees by Easter time.
Saturday was also Jordan's birthday, so that night we got a babysitter and went to the Alamo Drafthouse to see 21 Jump Street. It was nice to get out without the kids and enjoy dinner and a movie. We will be celebrating his birthday this weekend with a bowling party with our friends.
Finally, Easter morning was very exciting for Isla. She didn't know what to do with all her My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake toys and couldn't get enough of all the "deeeelllicous" candy. Mimi and Papa and Nana and Papaw also sent along some Easter treats that Isla was very grateful for. Her favorites were the m&m fan, the farm animal Easter eggs, (which she threw very forcefully on the ground to open) and her Angry Birds cape. When she puts the cape on she says: "Super hero". She is also very interested in her new tea set, but Mom hasn't let her open that one yet.
That night we had a fantastic Easter feast - we are still eating ham a week later!
Happy Easter everyone!!!
