Big Girl Bed!
Isla recently graduated to a big girl bed - She has dubbed it her "princess bed". We were worried that it was going to be a big process training her to sleep in it, but it has gone amazingly well. She has never once gotten out of the bed once we have said goodnight to her. Even in the morning, she patiently waits until we come up to get her.
The one hiccup we have had thus far is her falling out of it. The third night she slept in it, she fell in between the bed and the wall. She started crying, and thinking that she had just woken up, I spoke into the monitor (it's a two way) and told her to go back to sleep. When she didn't stop crying I looked closer at the video monitor. All I could see where her legs kicking around upside down. I immediately ran upstairs as I realized she was stuck. Once I got upstairs she had managed to turn herself upright, but she was stuck between the bed and the wall. To make matters worse, the bed was pretty low to the ground so she had scraped herself on the bottom. I told her to give me her foot and she nudged it just close enough so I could pull her out. Needless to say she was a bit shaken up as this was a rather traumatic way to wake up. Jordan laid down in bed with her until she calmed down, and she shakily asked me for a cup of milk ("moooommmyy, ba ba?"). It had to have been her saddest and sweetest request ever.
Since then we have purchased bed rails for a more safer nighttime experience...
Checking the bed out before bath time...
